The best ways to get my books for free today
If you’re reading this the day I share it (March 3, 2026) then you still have four days to get my books for free.
Right now, the website Smashwords is doing a sale that will let you download an ebook copy of The Wilderlands and/or Light Keeper Chronicle: The Unspoken Prophecy, free of charge!
Once you’ve done that you can download either book as a PDF or EPub file to read on your phone, computer, or ereader of choice. I believe you’ll need to make an account at Smashwords.com, but once you’ve done that you just need to:
1.) Go the the Smashwords home page.
2.) Search: “R.E. Bellesmith”
3.) Add The Wilderlands and Light Keeper Chronicle: The Unspoken Prophecy to your cart.
4.) Check out, at $0!
If you miss the deadline or would prefer not to make a new account, there’s other ways to get one of the books for little or no cost to you.
If you pay for Spotify Premium, you can listen to The Wilderlands for free!
While I understand the irony of saying, “if you pay for this thing, then it is free!” I do imagine this is the easiest way for most people I know to access the audiobook.
Those who do use Spotify Premium just need to:
1.) Go to the Spotify home page.
2.) Search “R.E. Bellesmith” or “The Wilderlands.”
3.) Start listening to (what should be) the first audiobook option that comes up!
Assuming you are interested in the audiobook but don’t want to pay for Spotify, there is another option—in this case, paid—by getting the book on sale through Libro Fm.
For the next week or so, The Wilderlands audiobook is $7.99 via Libro FM, a website that lets you support independent bookstores with your purchases.
But, going back to $0 ways to get my books, there’s one more way to check them out for free and that’s by literally checking them out.
You can ask your local library to order a copy of either The Wilderlands or Light Keeper Chronicle: The Unspoken Prophecy.
Rules and process for this will depend mostly on the nearest library to you, but if your library is willing to order a copy they should be able to get an ebook, audiobook, or physical copy to you if you just provide them with my author name (R.E. Bellesmith) and the title you prefer.
Right now, The Wilderlands is available across all three formats (including audiobook) while Light Keeper Chronicle is available across two (ebook and physical).
However you end up reading them, though, please consider leaving a review of whatever you read wherever you like talking about books. It does a lot to let other people know what they might think of my book and helps me find my audience.
